A BDF soldier was among three men arrested by military police on drug-related charges, court documents have revealed. He was detained on suspicion of dealing in drugs, along with two civilians who were with him at the time.
| The soldier is now facing charges in a military court, while his two Bahraini co-defendants, aged 21 and 22, have been handed over to the police and are being tried in the High Criminal Court.

Search A police search of his home found five pieces of hashish, while a search of his car turned up different sized pieces of hashish along with a rolled joint, according to the court documents.
He told police that he bought the drugs from a 25-year-old Bahraini drug dealer and led them to his house in Mahooz.
However, the alleged dealer was out of the country and police arrested him at Bahrain International Airport as he returned from holiday in Thailand.
Urine samples taken from the 21 and 22-year-old were sent for analysis and both came back positive for hashish.
Documents show that police raids on the homes of all three civilians turned up a total of 1.1kg of hashish.
The court has adjourned the case until September 18 to give the defence time to prepare their case.
