Tourist jailed for hashish in sock |
A TOURIST caught by Customs officials with hashish hidden in his sock has been jailed for six months.
| The 25-year-old appeared before the Lower Criminal Court and admitted obtaining and possessing hashish illegally for his personal use.
He was arrested at the Bahrain checkpoint after crossing the King Fahad Causeway from Saudi Arabia on September 13 last year, in a car driven by another Saudi.

A 2.9gm piece of what later turned out to be hashish was found in his right sock, the court heard.
He admitted the drug was his and told the officer that he got it from an African man in Jeddah. A urine sample also showed traces of hashish in his system.
