The drug teams raided the property on the Fraser river early Friday and then brought in a squad to deal with the hazardous materials.
Police moved into the building on River Road after a seven-month investigation into a suspected drug lab. The busy section of road is expected to be blocked off for at least another day.
The seized drugs have yet to be analyzed but investigators believe they're dealing with ecstacy.
It is expected to take days to take down the drug lab.
One area resident who was forced to take an alternate driving route said there are some ramshackle homes along that section of River Road.
"There's some rickety houses there," said Tom Schmidt. "You see all kinds of strange things along there when you drive by at 6 a.m. on the way to work."
It is expected that a large quantity of drugs will be seized.
RCMP also say there is no immediate threat to public safety, but people are asked to stay out of the area. River Road is blocked between No. 7 Road and Old Westminster Highway.
Basra said the investigation is still very active and further arrests and search warrants are anticipated.
She was not releasing any information about the individuals arrested or the investigation. She said as details are confirmed, further information will be released.
