....Smell of propane outs marijuana grow-op |
SCUGOG – The smell of propane and an alert delivery person lead Durham police to a grow-op in Scugog Thursday.
| Two Scugog residents are facing drug charges.
On Thursday just after 10 p.m., police paid a call on a home on Mabels Road in Scugog Township after a delivery person reported smelling a strong odour of propane coming from the open windows of the house.

One resident of the home denied officers access to the residence despite the possible safety risks and was arrested for obstructing police. When police entered to check on the safety of any occupants they discovered a hydroponics grow operation.
Police seized 349 marijuana plants with a street value of approximately $200,000, marijuana growing equipment, $520 in cash and weigh scales.
Thomas Bolton, 48, and Sherry Bolton, 47, both of Mabels Road in Scugog, are charged with two counts each of production of illegal substance, trafficking an illegal substance and possession of property obtained by crime
Thomas Bolton is also charged with breach of probation.
