300,000 euro worth of cannabis seized in Cork and Shannon Airports
Customs officers at Cork and Shannon airports have seized more than €300,000 worth of herbal cannabis found in the luggage of two passengers from South Africa.
A 55-year-old man was arrested after €132,000 worth of the drug was found when he arrived on a flight to Shannon from Johannesburg via Paris yesterday.
A 38-year-old woman was also held after another €171,000 worth of the drug was found in her luggage after she arrived in Cork from Johannesburg via Amsterdam.
The pair are being held at Ennis and Togher garda stations.
