....Huge quantity of Cannabis seized in the port of Oran

Algerian custom's officers seized the day before yesterday some7.5 quintals of cannabis hidden in a refrigeration container heading for Spain. Four individuals were arrested during the operation.
An inquiry is being conducted by the national gendarmerie to shed the light on various shadowy zones in connection to the case, which could lead a number of heads to fall in the port of Oran, 400 km west of Algiers. The 750 kg of cannabis was discovered following orders given to the custom's officers to check the suspected container in the presence of the attorney general on site.
Well informed sources revealed that the container was used by a businessman to import goods from Spain, to be sent back empty to Spain.

But the container has never reached Spain's pears and left on the docks for a while. it is thought that the drug dealers took advantage of this situation to load the container with the illicit product.

The huge quantity of cannabis gives a clear idea about a well planed stratagem used by a organized network within the port and that the operation was aborted at the very last moments.

This operation numbers among the most important of its kind in this region of the country, since the overall seized quantity recorded last year didn't exceed 22 kg mostly found stuffed in car tanks heading for Marseille or Spain.
