Christchurch police have nabbed a number of people on drugs charges and outstanding arrest warrants during an operation involving 61 officers today.
Senior Sergeant Roy Appley said six people were arrested and face 15 charges of supply and possession of cannabis and Ecstasy.
A team policing unit searched a number of addresses,
which resulted in eight people with outstanding arrest warrants against them being taken into custody.
Search warrants resulted in police finding 85 grams of cannabis, $3700 in cash from the sale of cannabis, 14 large cannabis plants and 41 smaller plants, more than 50 Ecstasy pills, cannabis oil, several bags of cannabis and four firearms.
Three hydroponic cannabis growing operations were also found and the equipment seized and destroyed, Mr Appley said.
"In the afternoon we targeted known criminals in the northern area looking for persons wanted on WTA'S (warrants to arrest)."
During a traffic sting numerous infringement notices were issued and a stolen mountain bike was recovered and returned to its owner, Mr Appley said.
