Murder accused Daniel Moore said he would "take out" his cannabis supplier, if he was going to take out anyone, a jury in the High Court at Wellington has been told.
"We were smoking marijuana at the time and I guess he wanted more. More money, more marijuana," Jamaine Csore told the court yesterday.

Mr Csore said it was not till he saw a photograph of Tony Stanlake in The Dominion Post of July 12, 2006, that he realised Mr Stanlake was Moore's supplier whom he had known as Kim,

and whose handless body had been found at Red Rocks on Wellington's south coast three days before.
Jurors have been given a photograph of the newspaper as an exhibit. Moore, 23, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Mr Stanlake, 62, a Karori property investor.

The Crown says Moore killed him to eliminate the senior partner in their cannabis business.

Defence lawyer Greg King repeatedly challenged Mr Csore to admit he had exaggerated and lied, but Mr Csore denied it. He went to see his pastor at Destiny Church before telling police what he knew.

Mr Csore said he would drive Moore to get cannabis from "Kim" in Karori, parking out of sight of the house. "He said he wouldn't mind having what Kim had, drugs and money I guess."

But Moore also said he could not do it because Mr Stanlake had too much security and guys higher up who could "take him out".

Mr Csore said the trips to Karori stopped when Moore's father, David, became jealous and Daniel Moore started going to his father for cannabis, and later ecstasy, and selling it.

Moore had told him Mr Stanlake paid half the $600 or $700 a week to rent the house in Strathavon Rd, Miramar, where Moore lived. Cannabis was grown in an upstairs room and later six plants were grown in the garage, but the ones upstairs died when Moore did not water them.

Mr Csore said he overheard Mr Stanlake agreeing to give Moore $7000 to buy a car. He was softly spoken and sounded very friendly.

Mr Csore said he began "seeing" Moore's girlfriend Ana while they were all flatting together at the Strathavon Rd house, whose previous tenant was the archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Church.

The trial continues.
