|
VALLETTA, Malta - A 50-year old British man was on Wednesday arraigned in Court after being caught in possession of a considerable amount of drugs earlier this year.
Steven Charles Bartram who was arraigned in front of Magistrate Miriam Hayman, said that the drugs were not intended for trafficking but were for his own personal use.
In his witness, Inspector Victor Aquilina said that Bartram was arrested in the harbour after a search led to the discovery of 143 ecstasy pills and an amount of cannabis in his car.
Bartram admitted that the drugs were for his own personal use but insisted that he needed them as he was suffering from depression.
Lawyers Joseph Giglio and Robert Abela appeared for the accused.
