A 29-year-old man from Zebbug, Malta was charged yesterday with cultivating 60 cannabis plants that were discovered by the police in a garage in Zebbug.

Steven Micallef was also charged with being in possession of an amount of cannabis that was found in circumstances denoting it was not for his personal use.

Before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Mr Micallef pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a deposit of Lm1,000 and a personal guarantee of Lm5,000.

Police Inspectors Chris Pullicino and Raymond Cassar prosecuted.
