'Ask-the-PM' about cannabis on YouTube!
I received an e-mail recently from Winstone Matthews who is a long standing member of the Legalise Cannabis Alliance in the United Kingdom.
The e-mail went on to tell me about the new initiative launched recently by the government, as a means to cross the generations and communicate more effectively across all age groups, but perhaps more specifically, to better communicate with the younger generation.

An age group (between 14 and 18) who carry out the majority of their communications over the Internet.

The Initiative? Its a new government channel on social networking website "YouTube!" and its designed to be a goverment "interface" with the population, and at face value I have to say its a great idea, if it works.

I think its fair to mention that, if you are looking to ensure the dandelions are trimmed regularly in your local park, then this probably isn't the ideal communications channel for you to use.

But if you have a question regarding a policy which is set at government level this is a direct way of presenting your information to Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Or rather a legion of his most junior ministers.

But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and only with the passage of time will we know how seriously 10 Downing Street is taking it, and in the meantime, Winstone Matthews has presented his own YouTube "Ask the PM" question, which you can view below.

We'll let you know if Winstone gets an answer.

Go On, Ask Him
If you would like to "Ask the PM" about cannabis, rock over to the Downing Street youtube channel and upload a short video clip.

If it relates to the cannabis debate in the United Kingdom drop us a line with the youtube address and we'll present a compilation of the best, for the Canna Zine website viewers as well as those who subscribe to the Canna Zine cannabis news website via Google News and RSS .

For the first time in political history, every single man and woman has the opportunity to communicate (almost) directly with the Prime Minister. I hope the British cannabis community will use it!
