Cannabis Community's still not using RSS Feeds? Its time to get with the program dude.
It wasn't all that long ago that getting anything which even feintly resembled a pro-cannabis story into the press, took the writing skills of someone like JK Rowling, or the heavy-weight celebrity status of George Michael to pull it off.

Ever since the war on cannabis kicked off in earnest about 40 odd years ago, anything the press carried with a cannabis flavour, was delivered with a certain "tint", later to be called yellow journalism.

RSS - Seriously widescale communiications power.

The undisputed king of yellow journalism was William Randolph Hearst, who used his string of US newspapers to champion the cause of Harry J Anslinger, the first in a long line of US drugs czar's, to wage war on cannabis, and its users.

From this point forth the world was steadily drip-fed a constant stream of anti-cannabis drug policies, which were sourced from the White House, and which were built around a chassis of racism and bigotry.

A policy which many New Yorkers still think exists today!

It was a publicity campaign of unprecedented magnitude, effectively setting up national drug policies over 3 quarters of the globe. Drug policy's which, whilst they still may be in place,

are constantly being eroded as the truth is released in larger and larger portions, using the latest in electronic communications technology.

A domain normally only patroled by the largest newspaper titles around the world.

Today of course, the only thing stopping a news story written by a pro-cannabis organisation in middle-england from passing under the noses of the worlds top news editors, is the pro-cannabis organisation themselves, who probably won't write it as..."whats the point? It won't get published".

RSS
RSS or "really simple syndication" is a brand new 'old technology' which is giving organisations all over the world, a real boost, as they find more and more ways to communicate with their target demographics.

All it takes is a free blog and plenty of targeted writing.

Whilst its hard to see it sometimes, the cream really will rise to the top, and pretty soon, someone will drop an e-mail asking can they publish your writing.

Or maybe they won't, and you'll receive a sudden warm rush of traffic to your website, which is a bit like wetting yourself when wearing dark trousers. No-one but you knows its happened, but it gives you a warm feeling speading across your loins.

It happens all the time, and this is the direction Internet communications are taking, as more and more, web surfers demand content "just how they like it", and on just the topics they want to read about.

Cannabis Communities
Cannabis message boards too, are a "growth industry" (pardon the pun) as more and more web-surfers scour the Internet for the very best in cannabis horticulture.

As more and more governments make allowances for cannabis use, the amounts of message boards or "forums" which will spring

up, makes this a lucrative means for seed vendors, head and grop shop owners etc, to communicate directly with their customers. Utilising RSS technology, the web-surfer doesn't even need to visit the website, to find out the latest deals in the seed-bank or grow shop.

Not if he subscribes to the seed-banks RSS feed he doesn't, as the news, as soon as its published, is delivered to the web-surfer just how he likes it.

The communications war is lost as far as John Walters and the US anti-cannabis brigade is concerned, and now its time for you to take advantage.

"But how do we get our RSS feed address out there"?
