Cannabis factory found in house owned by racehorse trainer Henry Cecil
A house owned by champion racehorse trainer Henry Cecil has been used as a secret cannabis factory.

A police search found evidence that up to 300 cannabis plants had been grown at the property on the racing legend's Newmarket estate - without his knowledge.

The home had been let out to a "family" from the Far East. But in reality it's believed to be one of the notorious Vietnamese gangs who make millions from selling the drug.

A source said that the operation was uncovered after a neighbour reported a strong smell coming from the three-bed semi.
The occupants had fled before the police arrived.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: "Cannabis leaves were found at the property when it was searched.

"There were also 300 plant pots found there with the roots of cannabis plants inside, as well as equipment used to grow it. Our inquiries are continuing."

Mr Cecil, 63, has trained Epsom Derby and St Ledger Stakes winners.
