.......$2.5 million marijuana bust leads to one arrest |
AURORA, Ill. (AP) - Police say a 33-year-old man from Mexico is facing drug charges today after police seized more than $2.5 million in marijuana from a semitrailer in Aurora this week.
| Fernando Velaczo-Rodriguez is being held at the Kane County Correctional Center in lieu of $150,000 bond.
He was arrested during a stake out Tuesday when police saw people
| | | loading crates full of 2,580 pounds of marijuana into a truck. |
Five other men who were arrested during the stakeout have been released without charges.
Authorities say they believe the haul was part of a shipment tied to a large Mexican drug trafficking operation.
