Pembrokeshire UK: Police had to wait for man to "pass" heroin wrap |
..and who said the war on drugs wasn't a war waged against drug users? One man in West Wales is looking at a custodial sentence for the sake a £10 heroin deal. Don't the prisons have enough to worry about at the moment?
| | Police who spotted a man acting suspiciously in Clay Lane, Haverfordwest, had to take him into custody and keep him under 24 hour supervision after he swallowed what appeared to be a wrap of heroin. | |
| Officers had to wait until David Jeffrey, of 71 College Court, Haverfordwest, to pass the object before they could charge him. Jeffrey, aged 35, pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled drug and obstructing police during a search. | 
| | James Subiani, defending, said that the wrap was worth around £10. |

| Magistrates today adjourned sentencing for the production of probation service reports and warned Jeffrey that he was looking at a high community order or even a custodial sentence.
| Jeffrey was released on conditional bail until sentencing on May 28th.
