The benefits of using coconut coir as a growing medium are nothing new.  Having been around a while its fair to say its stood the test of time and proven itself as a top grade medium for either hydroponic or more organic methods.

Using coco makes you feel warm..

For those of us still growing in compost/soil mixes, we can only sit and wonder at the fantastic root masses which coco-grown plants invariably sport.

The loose fibrous texture of processed coco husk is impossible to compress or water log, meaning the roots live in an environment which is light and airy without ever becoming saturated.

As a result of this the coco remains friable and crumbly throughout the entire grow.

With regular waterings to maintain moisture levels in the pots, root growth is explosive, setting your plants up for a happy, healthy run in.

If you've been thinking of making the change from soil/compost, to hydroponic, you already own all the tools you need, barring a pH and EC pen, (used to ensure constant water quality).

Take the plunge into hydroponics, and check out coco next time your in the growshop.

You'll never look back.
